We all at one time or another have experienced problems or difficult circumstances. Perhaps you have thrown all of your thought, effort, imagination and innovation towards something challenging and your efforts have fallen short. Regardless of what age you are, I hope Isaiah 46:4 is a reminder of God's unfailing love for each of us whenever we pass through difficult seasons of life. "Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you." It is encouraging to know we serve a God who is big enough to bear our burdens, carry us and yes, deliver us!
On his way to Damascus, Acts 9:1 talks about how "Saul was still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord." That was before he had an encounter with the risen Lord that changed his life forever. The voice he heard said "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" Saul said, "Who are You, Lord?" The next thing he heard significantly altered the course of his life and history. The voice said "I am Jesus, the One you are persecuting." Jesus told Saul "Get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."
"At the center of this wonderful experience was Jesus Christ. Paul acknowledged Jesus as Lord, confessed his own sin, surrendered his life to Christ, and resolved to obey him." Blessed are the broken roads that lead to Christ where our thirst is quenched, hunger is satisfied and life purpose is made known.
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you." (Isaiah 43:2)
"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us" (A.W. Tozer)
"Dear Lord, I can't handle my life. My problems have me licked. I need help. So I turn my life over to You here and now" (The Positive Principle Today by Norman Vincent Peale)
Be resilient in your faith, be encouraged and know that you are loved!
